Patrick McDonnal, CFP®
Financial Planner
Patrick is a Certified Financial Planner® professional, combining analytical rigor with a client-centered, life-planning approach. Drawing on his engineering background, Patrick brings technical precision and thoughtful perspective to every financial planning engagement. He partners closely with Emilie and Ariadne on comprehensive financial planning strategies and works directly with clients to help them achieve their personal financial goals.
Patrick was inspired to pursue a career change from engineering to financial planning after attending the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) early-career conference; eventually leading him to align with Tamarind’s values of financial life planning, fee transparency, and client-first fiduciary care.
An active leader in the professional community, Patrick serves on the national FPA’s NexGen Career Changers Subcommittee. He also volunteers for the non-profit “Third Decade,” which provides free personalized financial guidance and education to young adults.
Patrick holds a BS degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is an Eagle Scout. Outside the office, he stays active playing hockey, traveling, and coaching high school badminton in San Jose during the spring.
